Final Reflection
I have learned a lot of important things in this class that I will definitely use in my future career as a teacher. I have gathered a ton of resources for all of the different subjects I will be teaching. I have learned about all of the things google can offer in the classroom. And most importantly, I have become more comfortable with using technology in new ways. I think that learning about all of these different resources, such as Showme, Pixton, and LucidPress, has showed me that learning should be fun, interactive, and creative.
At the beginning of the semester, I knew that technology could be useful in the classroom but I don't think that I really planned on using it a ton. I never thought about creating a teacher website full of useful things for the parents and students. But after this class, I realized that technology is almost a necessity. I now realize that technology is so useful in so many more ways than I thought. You can use it to assess students in different ways, you can use it to let students who may be falling behind go at their own pace, you can use it to help parents know what is going on in the classroom. The bottom line is technology is amazing and can be used in so many amazing ways if we use it correctly.
One way I think technology can help me teach more engaging lessons is by using the smartboard. You can do so many things with smartboards that can help get the students involved in their learning. I especially think that smartboards are a great resource for math because it can make a usually boring subject like math more interesting. Another thing I really liked was google forms. I can use that to get information from parents or to assess my students. I can even have my students create a google form to assess their peers on a subject we are learning about in class. I also plan on using Showme (or another resource similar to it) to make whiteboard lessons that students (or parents) can go back and review later. I think it is great especially in math because it can help the students who might be a little bit slower at picking it up. It is also helpful because it can help the parents know how we are doing math in our class. There are so SO many resources I plan on using in my classroom, but those are just a few of my favorites.
